HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!

We are excited for this year! Mostly because baby comes this year!...actually next month, crazy huh?

We aren't up to much these days...
Our Christmas stuff is mostly put away (we had to leave town in a bit of a hurry so some of the mess was saved for another day).
Jeremy's school starts next week...this time next year he will be starting (hopefully) the last semester of his bachelors degree, I'm excited.
At my doctors appointment last week all was well, he is head down and kicking my ribs more often than he was a few weeks ago...we tour the hospitals birthing center this Saturday and the nursery will hopefully be done by the end of the month. Fingers crossed. (We can hope right?)
Speaking of Baby...Only...
On a side note...for those of you who don't know baby's name yet {okay so we aren't so good at the whole secret thing...} here is your new clue.
-It is a boy name-
-It's not a family name, as far as we know-
-Jeremy picked it-
-It is not from Star Wars-
-It starts with a consonant-
-That consonant is S-

PS a Christmas post might be on the way...if you do ever get to see one it'll be picture-less.

Happy Winter Solstice!

I apologize for the lack of posts lately. Let me catch you all up.

We have spent almost every weekend in Redding this month. Just quick trips, some less than 24 hours.
(so if you are wondering why you haven't seen us that is why. Between the planned activities and Jeremy's work schedule we are constantly in the car driving up and down I5. Good news is the trip seems shorter every time, bad news is we are getting very sick of the drive)

I cut all my hair off! Still getting used to it, but I think I like it.
{Thank you Jene for working on a Saturday, just for us. Your the BEST.}
We helped at my moms work Christmas Party.
We chased my parents cat and dog around until we could get this elf hat on them. They enjoyed it, don't let them fool you. We watched Phoebe, my parents polish chicken, try and work herself up the pecking order.
Then we went and watched Amanda's kids for a few hours, it was so fun. We missed them all (and still do), totally worth the extra 3 hours in the car.

The next weekend we hurried to Redding after my Glucose test to see Mannheim Steamroller with Jeremy's parents. It was fun.
I don't know why people complain about the glucose test so much, I really didn't mind it, and would do it again. They did tell me I am slightly anemic, but other than that I am as healthy as can be.

On Sunday Jeremy had to work. So I went to church by myself. Again.
I was supposed to be teaching the four and five year olds but they really needed me to teach the seven year olds, completely different lesson. So they got a mash up of the two lessons.

Jeremy has worked everyday for the passed two weeks (almost three) which is really good but he is getting tired. On Tuesday I managed to get him back out of the house to go look at Christmas lights with me. And we were very disappointed with the people of Southern Oregon. Jacksonville was beautiful but other than that there were hardly any light, even after visiting most of our surrounding cities.

Our Christmas plans are kinda still up in the air, weather permitting. And Jeremy works Christmas Eve and the 26th.
But we should be spending it with all our family.

We've been working on the baby's room more, I am so ready for it to be done! uhg, I feel so unorganized! As soon as it is all done we will share pictures.
Anything else we have done doesn't stand out in my mind, oh well.

We wish you all the very best this holiday season!

20 November 2011

It was supposed to snow this weekend. We waited very patiently for the beautiful whiteness to start falling from the sky. And it never did. Well it did but not our apartment.
On Friday (after spending a large amount of time clearing out baby boys nursery) we decorated for Christmas! We are well aware of the fact that Thanksgiving hasn't even happened yet but come on people! Christmas only happens once a year! AND it is one of my favorite holidays, I just love the smell of the cold air, burning wood stoves, baking cookies, everything about this time of year. I patiently wait all year (not so patient in the fall) for stores to put out the Christmas stuff and when they do I walk through the department over and over and over again. You'd think I'd get bored of it but it's not possible. And you can't really decorate for thanksgiving, sure you can decorate for all and add turkeys, but they aren't the cutest animal and I was sick of my fall decorations, they had been up since September. And it's not like we are eating thanksgiving dinner at our house, so we are just getting extra prepared for Christmas.
So we put up our tree and set up our nativity and a few other things while we watched Elf and sipped apple cider. It was perfect.
(we know we don't have a tree topper, but we kinda like it without it)
On Saturday we met my dad in Weed and picked up the Shark. She is spending part of her Thanksgiving break with us and I think she is already bored out of her mind, we try to entertain her but for some reason a seven year old's attention span is about as long as a three year old's. We did get to see a bunch of snow on the drive, it was so so so pretty. Lets be honest though, as pretty as it was I slept through the prettiest part on the way back home, it has become nearly impossible for me to stay awake in cars.

11 November 2011

Today I had a doctors appointment. Everything is going great. At my next appointment I get to do the gestational diabetes test.
After my doctors appointment Jeremy and I walked around some stores.
At Kid to Kid Jeremy found baby some cute shoes. (By the way it is my new favorite store!)
We found the corduroy we need to make the pants for babys blessing outfit at Joanns. (But didn't buy it...I don't feel the need for another project at the moment...and we forgot a coupon.)
Then we went to Lithia Park. We walked around and took some pictures.
Then baby and I dropped Jeremy off at class.
And because I had already been to the park I went to the artist emporium (not as great as it could have been, although there was a lady with a super cute baby corner, but it was mostly girl stuff :/ story of my life!)
Then off to the dollar tree I went...and for the first time ever today people could tell I was pregnant.
First the lady in the artist emporium asked if I wanted a kitten and the lady with the cute baby corner said "shes having a baby she probably doesn't need a kitten".
Then while looking at frames in the dollar tree a lady walked passed me then came back and gave me a flier for a breast feeding support group and said "I thought you might like one of these, I just made the copies." That made me pretty excited/happy.
And because I had more time to kill I went to the goodwill, for the second time this week...And they finally had most of their Christmas stuff out, so I bought stuff to make a wreath (which really Jeremy made...I don't think he likes that I tell people about his crafty side...you'll have to wait until Christmas time for a picture).
We had to get up earlier than usual this morning for my appointment, so on the way home from school all we could think about was dinner. We had breakfast burritos :D
We watched Monk.
We also made wishes at 11:11 on 11-11-11.

Isn't he just adorable?

05 November 2011

Three things have been weighing on my mind lately.
1. There are only 1,187 hours until Christmas (And only 20 days until my Husband will let me decorate), But where they heck are we going to put our Christmas tree? Do we move the love sack or couch into the babies room and hope no body comes to visit? (Moving the TV isn't really an option at the moment) Or put the tree right in the middle of our tiny living room?...
2. Where do people find cute little boys clothes that aren't cheesy as heck?! As flippin' awesome as I think my baby's daddy is I don't need our child wearing a shirt expressing it to the entire world.
3. The baby's nursery. We have decided that it is going to be grey and blue. Sounds easy enough right? Do you know how ridiculously hard it is to find fabric to match his room (I'm growing very frustrated on this topic). I decided to make the baby's bedding because lets be honest I don't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on it (and haven't found one I am 100% pleased with). So issue number one. Textile designers really need to realize there are little boys in the world. And ones who don't need Disney characters watching them sleep. Number two. Grey is a color people! Why some people choose not to believe that I don't know. The little boy fabric that does't have Buzz Lightyear or Lightening McQueen on it has brown. Yes it's true brown and grey have been tied as my favorite colors nearly my entire life and my last name my be Brown but I really don't need my entire house decorated in brown. I spent like three hours on-line last night looking for grey fabric (I found a couple of options but am not 100% convinced I love them. (And the ones I think I do love are the most expensive, imagine that, which makes me love them less).
4. Jeremy has had three phone interviews this week (were waiting to hear about a possible in-person interview) and also another possible interview for a different job (we hope)....so keep him in your prayers. Thanks.
